A stage of the world-famous Giro d’Italia cycle race will end in Dublin this year. The prologue of the race, which attracts a huge tv audience around the world, will take place in Belfast anf will be followed by the opening Stage which will bring the international riders from Belfast to Dublin.
The Giro is second only to the Tour de France in terms of prestige and tv audiences and its beginning in Irerland is likely to attract many cycle racing fans to this counry as well as showing the Irish countryside to millions of tv viewers. Stephen Roche is a former winner of the race. His son Nicolas is likely to compete this year.
