Review #6233313 “”Home away from home”"My wife and I spent the last two weeks of February here and have nothing but great memories and refer to this as our “Dublin Home”. Upon arrival we were met immediately with the keys and a tour of the apartment to include operations and locations of all appliances a review of the neighborhood stores, Pubs, and transportation options. The apartments location was perfect as our base of operations to tour Dublin and the rest of the beautiful island of Ireland. With The secure parking for our rental car and easy access to so much public transportation (we never drove around Dublin due to the convenient location of the apartment and ease to use safe public transportation) we were able to meet and interact with the friendly people of Dublin. Traveling with the citizens of Dublin allowed for us to learn about the city and find special off the beaten track places not mentioned in the guide books. The decor of the apartment was fresh and very inviting. The fireplace was a pleasant treat to use each night. A glass of wine while watching the flames jump off the logs and reflecting of the days events was a perfect nightcap for many of our nights. The bathroom was perfectly laid out and the provided hairdryer was a treat for my wife. The washer and dryer allowed for us to do loads while out shopping or site seeing and not waste time at a laundry mat. The kitchen fit our needs perfectly and the market is one block away. We took several overnight trips throughout Ireland and left most of our belongings in the apartment without ever worrying. The convenient location allows for easy access to all major highways without dealing with Dublin’s traffic. This apartment is perfect for anyone wishing to relax and visit Ireland. We loved our time in our Dublin home and can’t wait to return.
Review #6233315 “Stayed May 2013″The apartement is very clean. The kids loved to relax there after a nice sightseeing day in down town. The bus is just in front of the apartement and goes directly to the city center. Everything perfect. The hosting persons are realy nice and helpful!

“Amazing” – Mary – September 20th 2012 -Tripadvisor/Flipkey
If one could ever find the best time, place, event for a perfect holiday it would be here in the amazing care of Grainne and Tim who made sure all was perfect. My family and I were able to see Dublin and the surrounding area at our leisure, unhurried and when we chose to.
If I did not appreciate Grainne and Tim so much I would keep this place a secret…but I highly recommend this place and experience, you will not be disappointed and want to return again soon!!! Thank you and hope to return again!!

“Beautiful apartment, easy to Dublin center”- Marcy – September 1st 2012 – Tripadvisor/Flipkey
We very extremely happy with everything about this apartment. Grainne arranged for us to be picked up at the airport by Rory, who was a great resource for getting oriented to the area. The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed. All of the furnishing were new, comfortable and very pretty. We used the “Luas” to get to Dublin center which was quick and only minutes away. The neighborhood was quiet with a market and pub right nearby. As long as you are aware that you are not in the center of the city, but can get there very easily, this is a great rental.

“Our home away from home” – Elenora and Family, September 13 2012 – Tripadvisor/Flipkey

I spent two months during the Summer in this flat with my children and had a fantastic time there. I chose this flat because when I was making enquires the landlady, Grainne, was very prompt in answering all my questions and doubts and she was extremely helpful in any way. And I never since regretted this choice. The flat was very comfortable, bright and nicely furnished and decorated and as soon I stepped in I felt completely at ease. There was everything I could need and since we were staying such a long period I appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and the washing machine and dryer to do our laundry. The beds were very comfortable and clean and the sofa bed very easy to open and close. We also appreciated the back yard very much: it was a fantastic safe outdoor space for my children to play in. Other things that I thought they were a surplus value were the mobile phone I was given by Grainne, the weekly cleaning, the ongoing supply of toilet paper and kitchen paper and the groceries we found in the cupboard. Grainne and Tim are very expert, professional, friendly people and they would come back to us for any request we had. They organised for us to be picked up from and to the airport from a 7 seater car (we are a big family), they helped us to arrange a trip to the beautiful Dingle Peninsula where they live, they promptly fixed the DVD player that we couldn’t make it work. Another invaluable help was the neighbour and caretaker Valerie: she was very very nice to us and always made sure we were alright. The location was super, very well served by public transportation bus and luas and very close to the city centre. People in the area were friendly and there were two supermarkets very near and several takeaways. We were totally satisfied with this accomodation and would reccommend it to a friend. Very good job Grainne and Tim you made our stay an unforgettable memory!

Left on 03/27/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We stayed in this townhouse and just left sunday. We had great service from the owners and their crew. The house was clean and modern. Just down the street is a great pub called The Black Lion. We had a blast there with the locals! The owner even arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport. His name was Rory and we used him throughout our trip. We cannot wait to come back for a visit.

We loved staying at at the apartment. I can’t recommend it highly enough, better than a hotel anyday! It is close to transport and central Dublin is not to far away. Tim and Grainne were great hosts and solved problems when they occured, especially with the Wi Fi which they had up and running in no time! Shops nearby. The place is clean comfortable and has a lovely feel to it. People would be daft to book a hotel when they can have a place like this for a better price!

Grainne was a wonderfully communicative host, and made the whole process very smooth with advance planning and attention to detail. She even arranged for a midweek cleaning when we requested it, and it all went perfectly. My colleagues very much enjoyed the comfortable and well-appointed flat. This and the companion flat were the most luxurious places we rented for our team’s Dublin stay! Highly recommended. Thanks so much, Grainne.

We found and booked this apartment at very short notice and the owner got back to us very quickly. We were looking for something clean, comfortable and handy, and facilities that would suit our small family. This apartment was perfect. It is tastefully furnished and had everything we needed. Even simple things like a washing-machine and clothes dryer are important when you’re travelling with two young children from Australia. It’s close to the CBD, transport and shops, yet it is also in a quiet location. It also has off-street parking which gives you peace of mind. We were there for six days and it suited our needs very well.

We had a great time in dublin, and this is also thanx to the house we rented. Even if it’s not located in city center, the neighborhood is really very nice, with pubs, supermarkets and nice canals to go jogging in the morning. When connect with luas. Interiors were very nice, we liked fireplace very much.

Had a great week staying here in late October, 2011. Grainne was really responsive, from the very beginning answering all my questions, right up through our visit. We did take advantage of the cell phone, which was a great addition. The apartment looked just like the photos and was very clean and well supplied. Kitchen had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the groceries that were provided (delicious bread, butter and milk) along with the supplies in the cupboard (coffee and filters, tea, sugar). We also had her driver pick us up at the airport. He was very nice and helpful; in fact we used him for a day trip and also to get back to the airport at the end of our trip. Every one Grainne has helping with the apartment is so nice. When we couldn’t figure out the washer and dryer (didn’t know to empty the “water bottle” in the dryer), Grainne arranged for a neighbor to come over to help us on a Sunday night! Access into Dublin was easy at either bus stop, although it was sometimes a challenge to find where to catch the bus in town to come back. We did take a taxi home several times, which was expensive – 12-15 euros – as the apartment is a little bit outside of town. Bus ride is only 20 minutes though, and the Kilmanhaim Gaol was a 10-15 minute walk. Enjoyed the Black Lion Pub a couple of times for meals, and shopped at the Tesco across the street for fruit and drinks. Felt perfectly safe walking home from the pub or grocery store in the evening. Did not take the Luas until the very end of our week, but that was also easy to use and brings you in on the north side of the Liffey. If you want to go to the south side of the Liffey, then the bus is better. Started our sightseeing with the tour at the Kilmanhaim Gaol, which provided great history and background to Dublin. Followed that with a visit to the beautiful Dublin Castle (which is kind of hidden in town; you may have to ask for help to find it). The tour guide did a great job of further explaining Irish history. We were in Dublin during the Presidential election, so we saw the room at the Dublin Castle where the inauguration will take place at 11 a.m. on 11/11/11! Also enjoyed Guinness, Jameson Distillery, Dublin Zoo, St. Patricks Cathedral, shopping and all the cafes and pubs along the way. Everywhere we ate in Dublin the food was delicious. Managed separate day trips to the Cliffs of Moher and Trim Castle, which had a great tour, too. Dublin/Ireland is a great place to visit.

This was the first time we have ever used a service that airbnb provides. The experience was excellent. This location couldn’t be any more perfect. You are right next to the tram to downtown Dublin. 10-15 minute ride max. We were able to arrange a time to check in on our schedule which was very helpful with the jet lag. The place was very clean and well equiped for our stay. Tim even went out and returned with bread and milk for tea. Would definitly stay here again when we return to Ireland. Thank you Grainne and Tim.

November 2011

We had a wonderful time staying in Grainne’s apartment. The apartment was beautiful and spacious and the perfect place to come back to after touring Dublin. I suggest utilizing the driver she suggest; Rory was wonderful and very helpful in suggesting places to visit and ways to get around. Bus stops just down the street as well as a couple of grocery stores and pubs. We would most definetly stay again!
